Graco Snugride VS Britax Infant Car Seat?

Hubby and I are starting our research on things for the baby…. I am looking for a carseat that is:

#1 Safe for the baby
#2 Comfy for the baby
#3 Comfy for me to carry around and not awkward.

I have been studying both carseats graco and britax. Which one in your opinion is better? As long as it is under 400.00 money isn’t an issue. Also, does the base typically come with the carseat or will I have to buy that seperately? Thanks!
any other suggestions on good carseat brands would be much appreciated!

Graco Snugride infant car seats?

I’ve been looking online for an infant car seat, and I would really like to get a Graco Snugride car seat. I chose one on Albeebaby.com., that is 127 dollars before shipping and tax. Last night at walmart, we decided to look at the car seats, and they had a Graco Snugride winnie the pooh design. It was 89 dollars before tax. The problem is, the material was so thin, you could see the plastic part of the car seat through it, and I stuck my hand underneath the material, and there was nothing, no padding or anything. It was like a sheet laid over plastic. Doesn’t seem to comfortable to me. But on Albee baby, the Milan style Graco Snugride says that it comes with energy absorbing foam, and gracopedic foam for Luxurious comfort. What do you think? Does it have more underneath than the model at walmart, or are they just saying that. The car seat at walmart had literally nothing underneath it, and had 2 styrafoam pads next to where the head rests, and the rest of the car seat was plastic. I don’t want to pay 127 dollars online, if its going to be as cheap as the one at walmart. Anyone have the carseat from walmart, or another graco snugride, that you can tell me what’s underneath the car seat cover? Thanks for your help.

Babies next car seat question? ?

My son is 14 weeks old and running in at about 18lbs, and our graco snug n ride car seat only reaches a weight limit of 22 lbs. How old was your baby when they grew out of their first car seat? I really love my stroller travel system because the car seat snaps right into the stroller and makes for easy transfer from the car to the stroller when he’s sleeping. I’m not finding any other travel systems with a higher weight capacity then the 22lbs I have now. I plan on buying another car seat very soon but I’d really like one that snaps into the stroller I have now, or I’d like to buy a whole new travel system so I’m not waking him up to take him out of his car seat and put him into a stroller. Any other Moms having these issues? How long did your baby stay in their first carseat? And once he hits the 22lb mark do I need to have a new car seat for him immediately?

Question about big babies and car seat rules?

Our daughter is very tall. She’s off the charts for her height (28.75 inches) and 18 lbs at 6 months old. She’s all legs, really. Right now we have a Graco Snugride car seat that her feet are almost dangling over the front of, so we need to get another carseat soon. I know the rule is 20 lbs and 1 year old to turn the carseat around to front-facing… but what if the kid isn’t near 1 year old, and is past 20 lbs?? You’d think size would have more to do with age for safety reasons, but am I wrong about that?

We’ll likely get a convertible carseat and turn it around once she meets the criteria for it. But what do you do when the kid is over 20 lbs but not yet a year?

Does the Tike Tech Trax 360 Double Jogging Stroller allow the Graco SnugRide Infant Seat?

I am looking for a new stroller for my to be 2.5 year old and newborn. I would like to NOT disturb the new baby b taking him from his carseat for a ride in the stroller is already comfortable.
I found this one, midrange for price.
Does anyone have experience with it?
Can I put an infant seat adaptor in it and attach the infant seat safely?

the gray seat is 30 bucks cheaper.. is the pink and purple tacky?? would i be better off going neutral gray or brown?? opinons?? which one do you guys like better? thanks.

Carrying your baby in a car seat?

At what age do people stop carrying babies around in infant car seats? My baby is 7 1/2 months and I still carry her to the car while she’s in her infant car seat. Once I get to my destination, I just click her carseat into the stroller (we’ve been using the Graco SnugRider stroller frame) . This was easy when she was a newborn but now she’s getting heavy (18 pounds!) and my biceps just can’t keep up with her….

Is it time to leave the carseat in the car, and transfer my baby to her new, "big-girl" stroller when we reach our destination? What do you do?

Does anyone own a Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat? It says it can be used without the base? Why is that?

I am installing my new SnugRide Infant Car Seat by Graco… The owner’s manual shows how to use the Car seat with and without the base… both have areas to thread the car’s seat belt through them…

Maybe I am having a "blonde" moment here… but why would anyone want to use it without the base?

I mean if they give you the base, it seems logical to just strap it in and leave it there since the carrier part can be released and baby taken out without disturbing him.

Does anyone know why there is both options? Is one way better than the other? Does it make any difference? Does anyone own this type of carseat from Graco and what was your experience?

my baby’s car seat doesn’t seem steady?

i was going somewhere with my mom and 3-month-old aughter today and my mom was driving my car, and i noticed my baby’s carseat nearly flipped over when my mom was driving a little fast around this curvy road1 I freaked out practically. It’s the graco kind where the carrier is detachable. i am so scared to drive her now. is it okay to just take the booster/framework part out and just have the car seat detachable carrier with my car’s seat belt fastened across it? Is that just as safe?
also, it’s placed in the backseat behind the passenger’s side, is that okay?

Does anyone know if a Peg Perego car seat can be used on a Graco stroller?

I have a Peg Perego carseat and am haivng another baby; I don’t like my Aria stroller so I was going to get a Graco Duo Glider Stroller. I cannot figure out however if there is anyway to use my carseat/carrier with this stroller? HELP?
